Plastering over steel cavity lintel

Are these type of lintels usually bricked up? or packed out with wood and then boarded/meshed?

Walls are to be eventually bonded, then skimmed. I'm not doing the plastering but will be getting the walls ready for the plasterer.

Looks to me like you could lay a course of blocks in there.

The lintel is a little bit shy width ways. It could have done with being 25-50mm wider.
