Just doing out new extension...

What is best finish and cheapest to do...

1. Dot and Dab Plasterboard then pay plasterer to Skim

2. Render and Skim by plasterer

3. Hardwall and Skim by Plasterer

Most say Dot and Dab plasterboard is best (as can do myself) what size should I use if this the case?

Thanks

All options should give you a decent finish...cost wise its down to the spread to assess how much he thinks its worth...

You'd be better to get a few people in and get some ideas and quotes off of them.

If your going to do the d & d yourself id go for the smaller 6x3 boards...they are easier to handle.

get a price for dabbing aswell, it might not cost much and at least the plasterer can guarantee the whole job. dabbing is easy if you know what your doing, it might look right but then youve got skirtings and some plasterers are reluctant to skim someone elses boarding because there putting their name to it.
