Hi,
I need to add a new soil pipe to an existing brick built/clay pipe manhole.
The clay pipe is broken at the exit of the existing manhole, so that will need to be tackled too.
My original idea is to remove the existing clay pipe in the hole and replace it with plastic, with a Y branch to the new pipe, then couple the plastic to the clay at both ends of the manhole.
My questions are;
Do you think it would be more sensible and easier to demolish the existing brick manhole and install a preformed 450mm plastic one, then couple the clay to new plastic pipe at either end ? This will then allow simple connection of the new pipe to one of the side entrances.
How easy are these manholes to install and what sort of base should it be bed onto ?
Also, the manhole is on a driveway, so are these plastic ones still suitable, the car wheel will be ontop of the cover when parked up ! ?
Thanks
