It's been a while since I did any plumbing and in the past it was always copper fittings. I've never touched the plastic systems, but with the price of copper and the speed of fitting it seems I should be looking at plastic these days.

After a lot of reading I decided I should try JG Speedfit. There's a lot of talk between HEP20 and JG but JG seems to have the edge in terms of satisfied customers, wide availability and so on.

I'm just wondering where I should get the bits. Screwfix is cheaper than many of the trade places. I can't find a better price for 50m of 15mm BPEX than here:

In fact, when I tried to buy 120m the per metre cost is actually higher:

WTF?

Anyway, does anyone know a cheaper place to get pipe and fittings, or is Screwfix the best? I'll be ordering a fair amount of stuff as I'll be plumbing a 4-bed house.

many thanks,
S.

No need to go anywhere else really - stick with the genuine JG inserts, and use the proper slice cutter, too.
Excellent delivery service from Screwfix, I find.

I like to use PolyPlumb or Hep push-fit stuff.

I detest Speedfit!
I like speedfit - and I like hep2o and the others . But which is better ........................ . Just make sure , with speedfit and compression fittings ( not push fit) you use the correct liner , it`s differnt to the pushfit connector liner ;)
