Hello guys,
We are currently renovating a property. The first fix plumbing has been done in plastic (speedfit).
Today I have been trying to fit the pipes in for a new kitchen in plastic pipe (plumbsure). My connections and inserts are also plumbsure.
Everything works well on the first fix, and the pipes I put it are all strong connections. But when my pipes are connected to the first fix pipe the connections are loose when pulled.
Its all in 15mm pipe
Is this because the pipes and connections are made by different companies?
If so is there a way I can connect both the pipes without having to get speedfit connections, pipe etc?
thanks

You can use brass compression fittings to couple the two different makes together - always use the correct insert, and a copper olive always helps too.

On the Speedfit stuff that doesn't have the hand tightening chuck mechanism, I do like to use the non release collets where possible.

As John say's, by using a compression fitting you should be covered by each manufacturers own warranty. When you mix plastic systems your warranty goes out of the window if the joint fails

Don't be tempted to use any form of jointing paste / compound

thanks for that guys,
do i need to use the different makes inserts
for example
speedfit pipe has speedfit insert etc.?
or doesnt that matter?

The insert has to suit the pipe and be a tight fit.
