Are platonic friendships between members of the opposite sex possible?

Why do they always have to go and spoil it?

What are your experiences?

Spoil it? That's what we are on the planet for.

Been there done that all my life.

Sounds like a line from the movie "when harry met sally" ;)

Of course you can have platonic relationships between the genders....what makes it difficult sometimes is when 'one' gets an idea to make it more....and the other doesnt. Where you gettin the "they"? ;)

oops...i just realized the rest of your thread (experience). Except for one, all my current relationships are platonic....which seem to be suffering right now because of the 'one' which isnt. I do hope 'they' understand. ;)

I've always tended to get on better with blokes than women and only one of my friendships ever developed into something more, so yes I think platonic freindships between members of the opposite sex are totally possible. :p

I suspect the problem is that, however good friends you are, men are always going to be a bit curious about what girls have got going on under their jumpers. And traditionally, the only way to find out is with a bit of sweet loving-action.

Just a suggestion, but if you just showed them to us straight off, in a friends kind-of-way, we could all get on with just being friends....

  - well if any of my male friends have ever been curious I've not known about it so not a problem.

Oh I'm sure they have been, but glad it hasn't caused any trouble.... :D

In my experience the only time that a platonic friendship is possible between the sexes is when one person doesn't fancy the other one.

I agree, but I reckon it's more possible when the bloke doesn't fancy the woman.
I reckon I could get on with her without sex getting in the way.

It doesn't work.....I once tried this approach on a female colleague. I still have the scar,
