play in ball joint

Hi when our 2000 mk4 fiesta had it's mot 5 months back we were told that the nearside front anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a ball joint (and that the offside rear brake pipe has slightly corroded). What noticeable effects would the ball joint have on the driving of the car? Thanks

The car may tend to roll in and out of corners, steering may feel a bit 'iffy'.

My Mondeo 2000 W, failed on antiroll bar links. about £8 per side from local factors easy to change.
