This is what was there and I connected 3 and 4 together to bypass the failed Salus. Thanks

From the other thread...
If you want to connect a new on/off thermostat, the power can come from the L, N & E terminals and the switch wires would connect to terminals 1 & 2 (after removing the link)...

Assuming Single Channel Hive...

Ideally with a 4 core and earth cable:
Connect L, N and E on the boiler, to Hive L, N and E.
Remove the red link wire on boiler terminals 1 and 2.
Connect boiler terminals 1 and 2, to Hive terminals 1 and 3 - the order doesn't matter.

Use the cable grips provided, to hold the flex.

Thanks! So to clarify the cables 3 and 4 i have joined by block can remain?
The earth can go to the left of cable 1 on the pic?

Yes, forget about the wires behind the Salus including the L and N.

Use the brown terminal block and the cable grips (as in the image above) - they are there specifically for connecting the external controls.

Yes.

Well done!
Thanks for letting us know the outcome.
...and we should be grateful for another Salus banished to the depths of hell! ;)
