It looks like an early Valor, but the coals seem wrong. What does the writing say, and can you post a full picture of the trim and fret.

Why do you particularly need to know?

thanks for a speedy response.
need to see whether parts may be available

Yep. Defo a Valor DFE.

On the right there is a serial number. Does it say 618W?

If so:

I don't think ALL parts are available, though.

These are extremely inefficient fires. Have you used it before, or did you "inherit" it?
yes it does say 618W and the link has the thermocouple that I'm after..we have had the fire from new but its not really for heat more for effect.
The fire keeps cutting out after a few minutes lately which is worse when we put the fret on.But if I keep a blowtorch on the TC it stays on.
What dya think
I do appreciate your help on this subject ;)

I hope this repsonse is not too late! DO NOT order the t/c, as it is not causing the problem. We won't give actual gas advice here, suffice to say that a service by a Gas Safe RGI MAY get it going properly. If that doesn't sort it, he will order the right parts. Phone a GS RGI and explain the problem BEFORE he visits.

Good luck
