About a year a go my pressure release value broke outside my house. I had someone to come in to fix it. Well when they did this they some how let air in my pipes. They vibrate when I flush the toliets, when I run the sinks and the showers. I had some one to put air hammers on the valves that my washer water supply comes in. I had a plummer come out and he told me I needed to replace the fill valve upstairs in my bathroom because it is running very slowly in there. I did that and they are still vibrating. It is so loud you can hear it outside. Should I replace all of the fill valves in my house? I have two more bathrooms. What else can I do to make it stop? Please help!!!

Normally hydraulic shock waves are caused by any quick closing valves such as a solenoid on found on washing machines or dishwashers and so types of flush valves located in the toilet tank.

Water hammering can also be caused by just a washer being loose and as the water passes it is chatters and sometimes with piping rattling affects.

Try shutting off one valve (tap) at a time and try to isolate the problem as the hammering can cause a pipe to burst because of the velocity of the shock waves.

I asked a friend who is trying to help me solve this problem and told me all of these options are not the problem. Any other ideas? I am also in the process of changing the last two fill valve in my bathrooms. Do you think that will help?

NO, instead of replacing them why not just use the globe valve under the tank to THROTTLE down a little and see if that helps after all if your "Friend" has their way you may end up replacing every pipe in the house

Now I got all of the air out of the toilet pipes and all of my tubs. Now it is just now in my sinks. Any clue on how to get it all out?
