Hi there. I just found this forum/site, what a great idea....
Anyway i seem to have a problem with my central heating i wonder if any 1 could help me diagnose it.

While the pump is running there is a periodic banging sound coming from very near the pump, in the pipes i think.

I have tried bleeding a couple of the upstairs radiators but there seemed to be no trapped air and all radiators ar very hot and evenly heated.

Could any1 please advise.

Thanks in advance :)

Yes, I advise you to reat the three topics at the top of the forum and then provide the suggested information.

Well i cant really tell you much more ...i have just moved so i don't know the history of the system. It is gas central heating and it has a cylinder i'm sorry i cant provide any more information but i don't know enough about it.

If you cant answer then thanks anyway..

I dont know make and model of boiler i think its a baxi bioler (if thats what there called) dont know how many pipes cum out of it. but there is an insulated cylinder in a cuboard with a pump on a pipe next to it.
ther is a thermostat switch downstairs and one on the cylinder itself and there is a timer control unit for the water and the heating.
i really dont know any more unless you have specific questions.....sorry for being such a biff ;)

you have a boiler on a s or y plan bang could be the valve sticking
or the pump speed might be to high there should be a vent point near the pump / cylinder might be worth looking at :)
and make sure the pipewokk is clipped prop if pipes are touching try insulation

Thanks very much for your comments....just to let you know i think i have sorted the problem. on the front of the gas fire where the controls for the baxi boiler are, there is a thermostat control for the boiler i think this was set too high , i have lowered it slightly and the banging seems to have stopped.

It also has some brief instructions on the inside cover ; it just says speak to your installer for the optimum setting.

Does this ring any bells with you guys

No he didn't!
