plumbing a bosch dishwasher

I am replacing a Kitchenaide dishwasher with a Bosch. After the installer removed the old dishwasher which is located under a counter and not adjacent to the sink we found the water inlet sticking up from the floor with a shut off valve. It is 3" tall. The bosch fits flush with the floor with an indentation for flexible hose to snake around. Is there a way to make my connection more flush to accommodate this unit. We cannot access it from the basement because the ceiling is finished. has anyone run into this problem?
