plumbing a radiator

ok guys....i use to have a small radiator in the kitchen, but i took it off years ago......followed the pipes up to the boiler which is also in the kitchen...cut off both pipes and put end stops on them.....now had a new room built further up from the kitchen and i want to add a radiator into this room.....fairly straight forward......attach the rad to the wall....and bring the two pipes that i capped off and connect to the radiator.....how do i find which pipe goes into which side as the radiator has a TRV connected to it...? cheers
