Hi, newbie here :)

before i starts i just want to say i know nothing about pumbing or washing machines, lol

anyways my problem is this...
when we moved into our new flat i wa given a washing machine that may or may not work. i got a friend to plum it in for me and it never worked.

now i am geting a new machine for christmas and have just unpluged my old machine but now when i run the tap from my sink a some of the water leaks out and it didn't do that before we plugged in the old machine.

i have some images to show how it is:

this is how the old machine's waste pipe ws connected:

and here is the water leaking out when i run the tap:

now i also have a waste disposale unit next to the sink and there a connection there i think too:..

also in the above image i pulled the pipe off the bit sticking out and my friend had to cut a bit off the end of that before putting the pipe on it.

so can anyone tell me where i need to plug the waste water pipe to of this new washer when i get it on monday?

Many thanks to anyone who can help and i'm really sorry about my bad spelling

Thanks,
Nicksy

the machines waste water pipe goes onto the spigot that is in the first picture but missing from the second.

Erm was the spigot (the bit that screws on the trap with the rubber end of the waste hose on) thrown with the old machine, if so you need a new one.

The part that is now missing looks like it was cross threaded in the first pic. If you replace it ensure it is screwed on square. ;)

When you removed the old washing machine, you removed the waste connection.
The waste from your sink and disposal use the the same trap, so unless it is blanked of or the washing machine reconnected waste water will spill from the open end.
The open end is also where the new waste from new Washing machine will go (new same place as old).
Now a daft question, you say old machine did not work did it light up when switch on?
Two things too check the fuse in the plug and that the water outlet supply was turned on!
