Having ripped out my old 60s sink (in my 1930's house), and capped off the hot and cold, I find that the copper pipes are sunk into the cement on the wall. When I rendered up the wall, I just went over where the pipes were exposed ( about 6"). I only skimmed the front, so behind the pipes (1") is air.

Also, as the pipes emerge from the thick kitchen wall, there is a foot of Lead pipe, then into copper again. I would have to demolish a very thick wall to replace 1 foot of Lead pipe.

What are the regs on Pipes in wall rendering, and Lead pipe?

according to water regs ONLY water fittings should NOT be encased in walls pipework is ok PROVIDED it has been adequately protected from freezing and/or corrosion

get that lead out though terrible bad for it is

There are better things for u than lead...thats for sure.
the copper pipes are best/need to be warpped in smut ie duct tape, to protect them from the badies in render/plaster/cement etc
