Im going to lay ply (in preference to chipbd) over the existing damaged boards to cover the poor surface and reduce the cold draughts, to keep the same levels this will have to continue over the concrete kitchen floor.
Is there any vaule in putting some sheet material, DPM, thin insulation etc uder the ply, and if so what would be best, different for the concrete area I'd guess.
Im thinking of about a 10mm ply so that the finished level of the carpet is the same as the wood block in the hall way between the two areas and also laid on the existing floorboards.
Is there any benefit in using 8x4 sheets rather than easier to handle 8x2 or 4x2s fewer joints I guess but thats about it??
thanks
