Ive learnt that ply sheeting can emit formaldahyde gas and maybe this is what i'm exposed to in my shed as i'm getting reaction each time i go there. Some have said to vapour barrier the studwork but would the off gassing get through somehow even if the joints are taped up.?It has screws coming in from the outside of the ply (to hold the e.m.l on the outside)which penetrate through to the inside of the sheeting so srews are visible on the inside so probably not helping as there are hundreds of them piercing the ply.

What sort of reaction? Do you have a respiratory condition that's easily set off?

No i haven't any problems with me breathing or anything else but as strange as it sounds i only get this problem when im in the shed. Its like a sensation in the ears that they're tingling and starting to feel full, and then when i'm out of there it stays with me for a couple of days.

Have had ears checked out and they are ok but its clear cut that something is doing it in the bloomin shed.Ive taken off the plasterboard and insulation as to let it all air out even though its been up for sixteen months or so ..weird ay?

didn't say they're popping erm you did :)

Have read that the adhesive that bonds ply may have a formeldahyde based solution

thinking of this one logicly

why have you assumed it was the ply!!!

most sheds have so many different compounds on them and in them how can you possibly say iys the plywood!!!!

a useful point

I've taken a multi-frequency hearing test, and I've noticed that although I can't hear the high tones, I can "feel" them in my ears like pressure.

i 'm not sure whats doing it but have read up on all timber and its contents and treatments as thats all i have left in the shed, ive taken down all the plasterboarding and everything is back to the bare timber frame but the on going problem is there .Im in the drylining game and am always working with timber ,ply and everything else but never had a problem. Something to do with the makeup of the structure is giving me gip but i cant get to the bottom of it,.....bugger!!
