We've had our garage converted into another room but the new concrete floor level is slightly lower than the existing floorboards in the house. I have cut and fitted 9mm plywood boards which has balanced the levels.

I'm wondering now should I leave them unfixed or screw them into raw plugs into the concrete floor?

There are a few uneven patches so fixing them, particularly at the edges, would improve things.

We will be having underlay and carpet fitted on top.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

I suspect that fixing them, particularly at the edges, would improve things.

Also, leave a small expansion gap where the ply meets the wall. 5mm wouldn't do any harm.

You have used either WBP marine plywood, haven't you?

Thanks for replying.

Yes it is marine ply. I have left the gap around the edges - should I also leave gaps where the separate boards of ply meet?
