Hello Everyone

I am having under floor heating put in soon and before they install this i need to put down 6mm plywood.
i have a vicorian house and my lounge is 17 foot by 13 foot so its quite large
is this ply easy to put down as in just lay it down and screw it in.

best to screw into the joists at regular intervals - but beware any cables or pipes

I kid you not, have previously screwed through a central heating pipe and an armoured electric cable (feeding the fuse box) before now... both times knew they were there but didn't give 'em enough clearance - the screws skewed off course and, well you can imagine

mylittlehouse may mock...
But your quite correct to mention pipes an cables , as once the ply starts to go down its very hard to remember where these runs lie , I always use a marker on ply going down to remember .....;)

i have been talkin to a friend of mine who said plywood is good for under floor heating but depron is excellent as its instalated, what do yuo all think.
