Pointing a solid brick wall

Hi
Looking for some help....
Purchased a house which has solid brick walls.
I'm looking at re pointing the inside, the wall was damp but has now dried out,it looks to have been plastered but stripped back at some point(maybe the wrong plaster)
I have read that solid walls need lime mortar any help would be great thanks.
