It could only make a better job at pointing than me......
I reckon you'd need a spot on mix though, to prevent it clogging up.
John :)

That was a concern of mine, as well as whether it quickly gets tiring to use...
The other option is to hire one which will go on my compressor, but that looks quite cumbersome.

ive got 1 very similar to your link,i think there very good.only problem with them is when you trigger it it can push all the moisture out of the mix and block up,but through trial and error you will suss out exactley what consistancy you need.
certainly quicker getting it in/on the wall then a hawk or trowel, well in my opinion anyway.
good price aswell.

As gregers says blocking can be a problem. Talking to someone who has used one of these they found that generally they only work with a building (i.e. smooth grain) sand. Any mix which has sharp sand in it will cause it to block up.

Google for Pointmaster, and search this forum as I've posted about it previously

It works much better than the mastic gun types and does not block

Looks interesting Woody.

OP what you linked my mate who does this sort of work for a living said same as the guys here, it pushes the water out and gets clogged. He just uses trowel.

Unfortunately with a trowel I'm either too slow or too messy...lol

I'm looking for a way around that..

Thanks for the link woody

kwikpoint guns are well worth investing in if your going to do a fair bit of pointing.caulking type guns are depressing with the seperating of the mix and any tiny bit blocking them.
pointmasters were ok but i found the mix had to be a little too sloppy.

I hadn't seen the kwikpoint...

But it looks a bit unwieldy

on any of the videos for it they dont really seem to know how to use them properly.it took us a few goes.mix has to be bang on,not too wet or dry.
It really has to be used with the makita drill as it has a speed wheel on and this is pretty important for dealing with the height of the gap.
Also on the demos they seem to use the larger nozzels which we found totaly usuitable for brickwork, its way too big.As standard we always use the small 5mil one.
The 45 degree 10mil is amazing for paving.
Like i said they are an great bit of kit.I can manage 30m2 a day of normal brickwork which for £290each isnt bad.
They just take a bit of getting used to.

haha just read this back and i sound like a salesman for them.
