Hi

Can somene tell me as a guide which areas on a house need patch pointing, is there a certain mortar depth where you should repoint or just where you think it needs doing? Also when pointing do i need to wire brush the loose mortor out or grind the joints out? its only a quick job as im selling up ut it really needs doing in places

your help would be appreciated

grind to a depth of 25mm, brush out the loose and give the area a good soaking before you apply the pointing.

let the water dry off a bit before you start pointing though.
