What do you think about that then?

He was having a bit of fun in a fast car when the M54 was quiet not chasing crooks or anything.

Clearly he was a bit stupid because everyone knows there is a speed camera on the 4th bridge from the M6.

I think he should have been treated just like any other motorist! Banned !

But I dont see that he was doing anything terribly dangerous in a high performance car on an empty motorway.

Perhaps they did not like him at work?

I believe he was also clocked doing about 90 in a 30 zone (not sure of specifics, but it wasn't just a case of him booting it up on an empty motorway - M6 toll is good for that, byraway: you pays yer 3 quid then off you go!). Seriously though, he should've been banned, but the 'system' doesn't like inflicting hurt on itself, hence so few coppers ever get prosecuted for anything....

he didnt deserve to be hauled into court

the speed he was doing is a joke compared to most of us ( 200+)

hey we have to train to be able to get away from the likes of him

He could have come to a sticky end!...

His excuse was that he was just trying the car out..i'll remember that one next time im pulled for doing 45 in a 40

My personal views are that the judge in this case made the wrong decision. Police are constantly trying to hammer home the 'safe driving' campaigns, and the fact that this guy got off without a fine or ban is sending out the wrong message - and losing much credability to the Policeforce.

Although it is important to look at each 'case' individually, I recall hearing a police officer being interviewed after the Prince Naseem driving incident, and he was justifying why he deserved such a penalty for his 'stupid' and non-considerate driving. Strange why we haven't seen a police officer commenting on this one ;)

Perhaps there needs to be a little felxability in law (i.e. a few miles over the speed limit could be justifiable in some circumstances) - but 89mph over the limit?
