Polish concrete hearth

Hi,

I’m in the middle of sanding my floor and we have a concrete hearth from an old fireplace. What is the best way to polish and then seal it? I’d like to keep the old feature.

Not looking for suggestions of dig it out and board over it. Only how to polish and seal it in.
