I have a queery regardingthe use of poly pipe after the gas meter.
Visited a friend today who is in the process of having a wooden out building constructed, by the sound of it not too dissimilar to a current thread on electrics UK. Coming out of the concrete in the house and the outbuilding is a 110mm brown swept elbow containing green, blue, black and yellow poly's and armoured cable however these are all buried direct along with a brown 110mm foul in a narrow (~300mm) trench as visible in several places where landscaping is not done.

Am I wrong to think poly gas pipe is not permitted for this?

As an aside to this it looks like no care was taken to keep them in any order (tidy) in the trench as they are twisted in several places. However there is thoughtfully a draw rope in each tube, including the blue and yellow.

You can bury whatever colours of P/E pipe you like.

Regulations aplenty if connected to and used for the conveyance of gas!

The drawstring might suggest this is not necessarily the intention here.

poly must be terminated outside the building due to risk if there is a fire also cannot be exposed to sunlight outside

Thanks for the replies, It is for gas as the outbuilding is being used to house a gas boiler for outdoor pool. Yeah I know . I knew not permitted indoors so assumed that meant after the meter. Unfortunately the concret e drive has been repaired so that'll be coming up again and the outbuilding is built on a raft which extends some 3m under which the 110mm duct presumably runs so me thinks more mess on the way

Builder has put them in so I'll make the guess he told the boys to add drawropes and they got a bit carried away.
