Anyone had any experience with these: Solar inserts

they seem quite a reasonable price for a large polycarb conservatory roof, quoted about 370 quid for a 4m by 4m roof, and claim to reduce glare and heat significantly.

thanks,
David.

Yes,they do works.Was the £370 including fitted ?

Another option and would be a lot cheaper is to replace the whole sheeting to bronze colour if you have clear polycarbonate roof.I have noticed they seem to be cooler on a hot day and take the glares out.

Thanks,
As our roof is 5 wall 25mm and has 6 full rectangular sheets and 6 triangular end sheets (Victorian style) that would need 12 sheets(if I cant get 2 triangulars from one whole sheet) at about 45 quid each from what I can find, so thats going to be at least 500 quid possibly more, so the DIY option of inserts looks quite favourable, I'm assuming it would provide better heat reflection than bronze too?

Fitting for inserts is another 230 quid though, but I can't imagine it would be that difficult to do DIY, the roof ends are very easy to get at.

cheers,
David.

Yes,sounds like the bronze roofing sheet price gone thru' the roof !!

Very easy to do,just prise off the end cap then insert the foil.

Just has another thought, you can get stick-on mirror film and put it under the roofing sheet, not sure what the cost is though.
