I'm thinking about replacing my conservatory roof, which has plastic corrugated sheets on it. I am looking to replace it with 25mm Polycarbonate sheets. After getting a few quotes that i can't afford, I've been looking into doing it myself.
The roof is about 3.5m x 5m with the pre existing timbers running horizontally from one end to the other with the corrugated sheets laid vertically across these towards the guttering.
I was just unsure if I was able to lay the sheets horizontally on the pre existing supports as I'm worried about leaks or condensation, would they have to be laid vertically towards the gutter, requiring new timbers to make sure water runs off properly?
If you can lay them horizontally, how does this affect the F profile/edge trim as I assume the glazing bars would need to be short from the end wall to butt up to the F profile. Would this lead to leaks or condensation?
Any advice would be appreciated.
