No. At least that what the manufacturers of PU foams say, and I've certainly seen PVC cables that have been exposed to it for long periods without any apparent ill effect.Does polyurethane foam affect electric cable if they come in contact?
I presumed that he meant expanding foam. I suppose your precaution makes sense (unless there is anything that can leach from the cling film that could harm the cable sheath!). However, you will probably recall that, a few years back, I asked a number of manufacturers of expanding PU foam this question and (somewhat to my surprise - I had expected 'backside-protecting' responses!) all said that their product was fine in contact with PVC-sheathed cables.Do you mean the expanding foam? If so, some makes can affect the outer sheath of cable. I wrap cables with cling film if using expanding foam near them, just to be sure.
Seems odd.I presumed that he meant expanding foam.
No - post #4 was the one where he stated his presumption. He did, in post #4
Have you nothing better to do with your time? Whatever the 'reason for my presumption', the OP confirmed that it was a correct presumption in post #10.No - post #4 was the one where he stated his presumption. What he has not answered is the question about his reason for his presumption.
