pond lighting

can someone please tell me the best way to install underwater lighting in my pond!i am a second year apprentice electrician so i have some knowledge,just require small bit of guidance i would be very greatful for anyones help,cheers

wouldn't lead poison certain aquatic life? (like, everything!)

I thought they made lights with concrete or synthetic ballast on them.

Seriosuly - buy an IP68 rated kit, drop in the lights, and plug it in

do i need to install a GfCI or will a normal outdoor socket do?

what i had benn told was to loop out of an indoor socket into a fused switched spur unit,also housed indoor,then out of this into my outdoor socket?is this possible?i would be placing the spur inside in order to switch off the pond lighting!thanks for your help

Sounds reasonable. The outdoor socket must most definatly, be protected by an RCD.

This work is also notifiable to LABC

solve your problem by keeping the transformer in doors and pluging them in or plug into a timer first
