Hello,

Recently re-tiled around the (acrylic) bathtub and then applied silicone sealant in between the tiles and the bathtub. We cleaned the surface of the tub first.

It stuck initially when wet but once cured it has started to lift up from the bathtub but sticks to the tiles fine. Any idea what we did wrong and how to repair it?

We used B&Q brand sealant.

Thanks!

You need to make sure the bath is braced and framed properly, the gap between the bath and the tiles should be about 2-3mm, fill the bath, apply sealent and leave over night.

That should do the trick. Oh, and as Gcol implies - use a decent sealent.

B & Q silicone is around £4 unibond silicone just over £7
