We're just having a new bathroom and have bought a monobloc tap and one taphole basin. Our plumber has just come to fit it but discovered that when the tap is on the basis, the pop-up waste "pull" on the back of the top sticks out further than the back of the basin. Once the splashback is tiled you won't be able to move it at all!
The plumber has suggested we tile behind the basin and he then fix to the tiles to push the basin out as with the depth of tiles all over the waste will just about work but I'm not keen.
I suggested that we mount a basin shaped piece of 12mm MDF on the wall, paint it the colour of the wall and mount the basin on that to push it out 12mm but the plumber says it wouldn't look great.
Any suggestions?
