I’m raising the height of my porch floor so that once it’s tiled it will be the same height as the rest of the house.

At the moment it’s stripped back to the concrete pad.

The concrete pad is a little uneven and I need to raise the floor height between 42mm and 57mm to get a level surface prior to tiling.

The DMP is about 40mm above the concrete pad, so I need to be careful not to breach it.

Someone suggested putting polythene down, lapping it up the walls and then dry pouring postcrete, getting it all level and then sprinkling with water.

This sounds like an easy way to do it, I’m just concerned it’s a bit of a bodge.

The other option I was thinking was self levelling and then tile adhesive down 40mm jackoboard. It’s a more expensive way though, so if I could get away with the postcrete that would be nice.

Porch is 1.8m by 1.3m.

Any thoughts?

Cheers
