I'm looking at building a small porch roof over my front door. I've seen there are quite a few off the shelf solutions but most of these are designed for flat fronted houses.
I have the garage attached to the front of the house so the side of the porch roof would need to fit in with this.
I am looking to just build my own simple roof along the lines of using timber to create a triangle based frame, sloping forward, at the same angle as the garage roof. It would be attached to both the house front and the side of the garge support.
For the top layer I was looking to use ply covered with roofing felt to match the existing garage.
Does this sound sensible?
I have attached a photo showing the area above my front door.
