We're going to get a woodburner installed, a friend of mine has just installed his own and said it was eay, will help etc, etc.
But as I have read that you should get it installed by a qualified/certified person as the new building regs demand  , we're wondering if we should do it 'properly' (ie legally) and so what sort of cost that would entail?
Does anyone have any experience of having one fitted professionally and what that roughly costs? Thanks.

We had a Jotul F100 fitted by a local company in May 2003. Total cost including the woodburner, materials and fitting - at little over £1400.00. This included fitting a stainless steel chimney liner, register plate and raincap and insulating with micafill. We have been very pleased with our woodburner and the fitters made no mess whatsoever. Took two men about a day and a half.

Having said that, we also know someone who has fitted their own - straight into the chimney and using no liner. We felt happier getting it fitted by the
professionals.
