possible airlock?

Hi all.

Since fitting a new tap into my kitchen (mixer tap) the cold water just comes out in a jet that spurts water just about everywhere! The hot water is fine.

The kitchen tap is the only one affected, bathroom cold/hot are both fine.

Any suggestions?

shut the rising main stopcock a bit .......presumably you shut it completely to change the mixer tap
