Hi I've recently moved house into a 1920s bungalow. An excellent extension to the kitchen was added in the 1970s and I've noticed a crack at the corner of the door where the extension meetings the main house. The crack is both external and internal. I'm in a real panic that it's bad structural movement or subsidence. Could someone please take a look and give their opinion.

Thanks so much

It's cracked where the lintel ends are.

Pretty common.

Not much of a deal really, not an indication of subsidence

A picture showing most of the front of the house would be more useful.

What is above the door - looks like a call for a window

Probably just where the extension foundations have dropped slightly and nothing to worry about, nowadays it would be a soft joint that allows for a bit of movement. Can you post some photos from further away.

Given the dates it's actually more likely that the extension has stayed put and the original bit moved but either way it's not bad cracking. Seal up and keep an eye on it

I've just moved into a 1920s bungalow and an extension was added to tg kitchen in the 70s. I've noticed a crack that is on the inside and outside of the wall where the extension meets the original house just above the uPVC door. I'm really worried it's subsidence or structural movement. Could someone please look and let me know what you think. Thanks

You have already posted this up twice and received advice. Not sure what else you are expecting?
