hi all,
at the minute we have a potterton flamingo rs13 boiler with a T.R.A.C TPE20 timer linked to boiler.the system is indirect gravity fed.i was wondering if the system could be upgraded slightly?ie put a new programmer in plus a zone valve(2 or 3 port i dont know)plus cylinder&room stat.at the minute if i just press the button for hot water the boiler keeps firing up for a bit then shutting down, firing up then shutting and so on.iwas also thinking of giving the system a good clean and flush.do i descale first then sludge remove after or vice-versa.this is just an idea i have.does anybody have any opinions?

taa very much :)

Fit a Honeywell C Plan, gives room stat, cylinder stat and 28mm 2 port motorised valve, DONT FIT IT SO THAT IT BLOCKS OFF THE VENT ON THE FLOW PIPE.
I would fit thermostatic valves on all rads exept the room with the wall stat, should cut your gas bills and extend the existing life of the boiler and pump.
Done a few and they work a treat.

thanks for the info PV man, appreciate it.just acouple of questions..where do i put the 2 port valve without blocking the vent off?the flow from the boiler is 28mm then as it goes into the top of the cylinder it reduces to 22mm(28x22x22).which type of stats and programmer would you reccomend? can you get C plan packages from the merchants?thanks
