Hi all,
I've just had EWI installed. Since the cills on the existing windows were not long enough they have installed overcills that project out past the insulation.
Our windows have concealed drainage. The overcills completely block the drainage slot and they have also siliconed this up.
Their solution is to install face drains, but I can't see how this will work. Surely any water will run past the face drain down the original concealed drainage route, onto the cill (but still in the frame, behind the silicon), to the edges and then out into the insulation.
They are telling me that the frames will fill up until water comes out of the face drain, but surely this would only be true if the edges of the windows where it met the original cill had been sealed. I'm certain they didn't do that.
Interested in what the options are.
Thanks,
Ben
