1. Tarmac paint
2. Resin bound or bonded gravel
3. Replace with something else....

Any more?

Our tarmac drive is probably 30 years old, is very light gray in colour now and looks pretty tatty, although it is sound in and of itself.

Looking at possible ways to tart it up.

Does bonded gravel add much height, as we have bricks around the edge of the tarmac and so a very thick layer would be awkward....

TIA

I cant see bonded gravel making much difference to the height, assuming 6mm aggregate was used. Biggest concern would be getting it done properly so the gravel sticks firmly and you dont end up with 'ruts' forming, or heaps of gravel washed off after heavy rain/frost damage. Seems pointless to dig it up to replace if the material is still sound.

Thanks. It LOOKS easy enough to apply.........famous last words! Might try it on a small area somewhere.

Thanks for the input

Did you actually try this resin approach? What did you do and how has it lasted ten years on?
