postion of shower riser for electric shower

Is it safe to have the riser of an electric shower close to the shower it self. Or is there a set distance it needs to be away from the shower to keep water off the shower with it beging electric.

no set distance. you don't get much space if fitting over a bath etc by the time the shower screen is fitted useally only about 6" gap.
 
ok is it safe to have it right next to the shower am maybe having to do this because of were I have to put the shower due to the electrics
