Just after some advice / reality checking after a bank holiday thought came a cropper.
Context:
We bought our house start of the year. It was renovated by the previous owners though they ran out of money, got into debt hence the sale of the house.
The house is great, we love it after coming from a past reno, having it all done is great.
We have a decent sized kitchen / living space with bi folds which is the RH side of the pic.
To the LH of the pic are french doors which hosts a ‘formal’ living area. has an entrance off the hallway and that’s all.
We do not use this room currently. We just never seem to naturally go there and end up always watching TV / sitting in the kitchen as we have 2 young kids, as the other room seems so cut off.
My thoughts are to extend into the void area between the kitchen and front room in the pic. It’s approx 11am, and would mostly be used to just create access and open plan between the 2 rooms.
Is this an absurd idea? Does it make sense? Is there a way to plan for rough cost? We plan to be here long term so at least 10 years.
