Potterton 25 year old boiler myson pump

works fine but upstairs is warm downstairs radiators are cold,bleed the radiators ,closed valves upstairs on radiators on one side still cold downstairs.

called plumber busy said try the pump black plastic hex opened it up pulled it and turned any which way i could burning hot.

sparks start too fly burning smell plastic burning at bottom rear switched timer off and thermostat, switch on hot water same burning smoke switched everything off .

Any ideas ???

New boiler you mean i dont think there is a condensing floor standing boiler is there
