POTTERTON BOILER PROBLEMS PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to any sort of plumbing issues so would appreciate some help from anyone who has any experience with the problem below;

I have a potterton suprima L boiler which has worked fine for the past year however over the past months the thermostat has stopped working and when you press the button for the heating to come on the potterton suprima displays a red light that beside it reads temperature, the hot water does however work no problem but as soon as you turn the hot water off and leave the heating on the boiler turns itself off and the red temperature light again comes on...... PLEASE HELP as a call out charge will be mad this time of year.....Many thanks....Justin

Round here the price for part number 5111603 is over £200 off the shelf.
You can get cheaper than £175 on tinternet if you know where to look but that means waiting for delivery.
