Hi every one have a problem with the boiler lighting up on its own even when the programmer is off,changed the programmer but no better any ideas

perhaps it thinks its cold, (i wasn't joking, ours has an internal frost stat) or perhaps you have a leaking hot water tap

If you have a normal boiler (non combi) that is pumped with motorised valves it will be the microswitch in one of the valves sticking giving power to the boiler and pump even with programmer turned off. If you had a faulty gas valve this would usually stay on all time and boil up system resulting in loud banging.
