hi Folks,

Couple of days ago we noticed the readiators were cold - chilly days, great timing!

Checked out the programmer and it appears to be dead. It's an EP2000 (the older black one). I went down to the local store and the chap advised if power is running to the programmer (yes it is - having checked) then I could replace it with a centaurplus C21 (all he had in), that'll do - £30 thanks very much....

I understand some re-wiring will be involved and I reuse the backplate.

If only it was that easy. How on earth do I get the programmer off the backplate/Wall? I got my torch out and see a hing perhaps across the top but whatever I have tried I cannot get the thing to budge. Very annoying - Whats the secret to removing these darn things?

Thanks... brrrrrrr... quick please my g/friend is moaning about being cold.. ;)

if you can re use the backplate, that must mean your new one has the same backplate, how does your new one separate?

i think i had one of these fkks the other day. bottm right is a small tab approx 1/2 inch in. press with screw driver and tilt upwards, now the one i had was grouted in, just force it up, you think its gonna break, ....
if it does...i got the wrong one..

if its black in colour...then ive got the right one.

I have one in my mitts. The tab is IN the groove where the front and back halves join, about 3 cm from the lower right corner. I would suggest it needs a 6mm flat bladed screwdriver.

Fraid yourcentaur has a completely different backplate, but you shouldn't have too much trub moving the wires as long as you mark them before you undo them!
