We have a potterton ep2001 boiler (combi for hot water and central heating). Recently it has become quite noisy, then last week when set on auto for morning hot water, would not come on. So week of cold showers - nice! Friday set hot water to "continous" so great yesterday we had hot water all day. Last night the boiler got really noisy, loud vibrations, high pitched squeaks - so in order to get some sleep - turned it off. Today - cannot get the hot water on. For a brief moment it fired up, ran for a few minutes then died down. So no hot water! This is a rented house, with a tight landlord who will probably ignore us as he hates spending any money on the place. anything we can do? we are hoping this problem can be fixed with an easy solution that does not involve having to call a plumber. any help appreciated.... thanks.
