Hi folks,
We have a Potterton Gold 28he combi boiler which has now stopped working with a E160 error message - Fan fault.
We called in an engineer who told us it was the fan. After ordering one and replacing the fan the boiler worked for a day then stopped again with the same E160 error code.
We called the engineer who told us, then it would need a new circuit board a cost of £200+vat.
Ouch! especially having just paid for the fan to be replaced. We are also wondering if this is normal diagnosis for a fan fault :-
Step 1 Replace Fan
Step 2 Replace Circuit board
Does this sound about right ?
Is there no other (cheaper) part that could be replaced/tested first ?
All help greatly appreciated.
