I have a pretty new (6 months) Potterton Gold Combi boiler that is causing me headaches (literally).
When I first turn the heating on, it fires up, is quiet for a minute or two then starts making a horrendous vibrating noise. This noise stops after another 2 minutes or so and does not come back until the heating is turned off then on again. If I turn a hot tap on while the noise is happening it stops the noise, but then it comes back shortly after the tap is turned off.
A few bits of info that may be relevant:
This only started when I took a radiator off and capped then pipes while I was re-boarding and plastering my living room.
I have a closed system (i think, no header tank anyway it is filled from a filling loop).
The system is full and all radiators are bled. I don't think its the pump because I can hear that going while the heating is on after the noise has stopped and it is very quiet.
Any suggestions on what this might be and what I can do to fix it?
