potterton neataheat 10/16 again

[/b]please help my boiler pott neataheat10/16
pilot lights but main burner never fires however if i wiggle user control knob boiler fires, not sure if user control knob is faulty gas valve is knackered or its something simple like fault thermocouple.??????????????????
please throw some ideas my way.

Is it moving copper wire of the mercury vapour switch when you waggle it?, similar to the thermocouple the end needs to be in the flame.

More likely to be the connection onto the end of the gas valve being moved.

Its probably just adventicions movement as there is no connection between the two parts.

As usual should really have a CORGI engineer look it as its a safety device!
