Sorry if this is a repost... I keep getting thrown back to the login screen..

The boiler is pretty old, but had been serviced in the last year (new PCB) and a new pump (6months) and has been pretty reliable.
The boiler gave a series of loud clicks (normally it is only one) and fired up, shortly afterwards, it gave another series of clicks and the lights went out (literally).
I turned off the power to the boiler, reset the circuit breaker and then turned on the supply to the boiler again. The circuit breaker tripped again.

The 3amp fuse to the boiler is OK, so power is going in and something thereafter is not working.

Could it be the Igniter or the PCB?

I don't mess about with gas, so I won't be doing the repairs...

If it is your main rcd trip going then there is something leaking to earth.

The most common things are those with motors, eg the fan of the pump, so I would want to eliminate these from the circuit before anything else, even though the pump is only 6 months old.

After that it is just methodical fault finding with the use of a multi meter.
